Nicolas travelled to West Island, in the Gulf of Carpentaria, to film and photograph the work of the li-Anthawirriyarra Sea Rangers, documenting their effort to bring native wildlife back to the island. The finished video includes additional footage contributed by the project alongside the material captured on location.

The Rangers are working to eradicate cats from West Island to restore its native mammal populations, a big job they have been carrying out for ten years. The project has received support from Desert Wildlife Services, Territory Natural Resource Management and the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
