Nicolas Rakotopare
Associate Fellow at the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP).
My work focuses on documenting science, conservation and nature, and bringing those stories to a general audience through every channel available today.
I have a degree in Ecology and Conservation Biology. After spending most of my childhood in Madagascar, I have been based in Australia for nearly two decades.
My clients include OTF for Natgeo Wild, WildBear Entertainment for Love Nature, Indigenous Desert Alliance, Channel 4 (UK), Bloomberg Digital (USA), Mongabay, the Natural History Unit (NHU), the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, TERN, and more.
I have licensed content to SBS, PBS, Plimsoll Productions, Netflix, Firesticks Alliance, and more.
Just as importantly, I love working with small NGOs, research groups and community organisations. If you are doing meaningful conservation work and think film or photography could help tell your story, please do not hesitate to get in touch, whatever the size of your budget. There is almost always a way to make something work.
For stock footage, I am represented by Nature PL, where I regularly add new wildlife footage to my stock portfolio. If you need specific clips or are searching for something that is not yet available in the collection, feel free to get in touch and I can help source or film what you need.
I also run wildlife photography workshops through my business Lerako Photo Tours, with trips in Sri Lanka, Borneo and Nepal in search of the red panda.
