On the 14th of September 2025, the Moggill Creek Catchment marked the twentieth anniversary of its volunteer platypus surveys, a citizen science effort sustained over two decades.

Nicolas joined the volunteers in the dark, early hours of the morning to document the survey as it happened along the creek, followed by a celebratory breakfast to mark the milestone.

The survey has been carried through twenty years by the long-term dedication of Dr Christine Adams-Hosking and Dr Tamielle Brunt, and by the contributions of many volunteers over that time. It continues with the ongoing support of Platypus Watch and Wildlife Queensland.
