In 2018, Nicolas travelled to the Pilbara in Western Australia on assignment for the Threatened Species Recovery Hub, documenting the field research of Billy Ross and his work with northern quolls.
The northern quoll is one of Australia’s threatened native carnivores, and the Pilbara holds populations of particular importance to the species’ future. The assignment focused on capturing the research as it happened in the field, across the rock country and spinifex of the region.
